4. Switch on the machine by pressing any drink button.
5. Press Caffè Crema to fill the internal water circuit.

Making Coffee

7. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water.
8. Lift the lever fully.
9. Insert an undamaged Cafissimo capsule with its lid facing forwards.

11. Press Espresso, Caffè Crema or Coffee.
12. Wait until dispensing stops automatically.
13. Lift the lever fully to release pressure and drop the used capsule into the container.

Do not open the lever or remove the front drawer while brewing. To stop a drink early, press the flashing drink button again. Preheating the cup with hot water helps a small espresso stay warmer.

Making Cappuccino or Latte

The Pure Plus does not have an integrated milk frother, so it cannot make a complete cappuccino or latte automatically. Heat and froth milk separately, prepare an espresso, then add the milk and foam. The advantage is that milk never enters the coffee machine, so there are no internal milk tubes to clean after every drink.

Daily Cleaning and Maintenance

• Replace the water in the tank every day.
• Empty the used-capsule container daily or whenever full.

How to Descale the Cafissimo Pure Plus

A steady yellow indicator means descaling is required. Tchibo recommends descaling after approximately 50 litres of water have passed through the machine. Use a liquid descaler intended for coffee and espresso machines; products based on formic acid are not recommended.

1. Switch off the machine by briefly pressing Espresso and Caffè Crema together.
2. Add liquid descaler to the empty tank according to its instructions, then add cold water to MAX.
3. Place a container of at least 800 ml under the outlet.
4. Hold Espresso and Coffee together for approximately five seconds.
5. When the indicator flashes red and yellow, press Caffè Crema.
6. Allow the descaling stage to finish.
